Guide to finding the Blacksmith NPC in Slime Seas: locations, crafting tiers, and material requirements from boss drops.

Blacksmith Location

The Blacksmith NPC first appears on Starter Island (Island 1, Slime Forest, level 0 gate) during the tutorial quest chain — typically unlocked after your first slime kill quest directs you to upgrade your weapon. Look for the anvil icon on your quest tracker or map marker near the Starter Island hub center.

Blacksmith stations replicate on subsequent hub islands as you progress — you do not need to return to Starter Island for crafting after unlocking later hubs. Each major hub (Crimson Ruins area, Desert Island, Goblin's Landing, Duskfall Isle) hosts a Blacksmith accessible from the island center. Full NPC map: NPC locations.

What the Blacksmith Crafts

The Blacksmith converts boss drop materials into guaranteed armor pieces when RNG fails:

  • Iron Novice set — Wing Flaps from Rima (35.5%) + slime materials
  • Copper Novice / Thorn — Sinbad drops at level 160
  • Steel Adventurer — Ogre Horns from Ogre Lord (41.58%) at level 255
  • Shadow Steel — Sigil Fragments from Monarch (42.02%) at level 360+

Crafting Priority Timeline

Level 0–30: Craft starter upgrades from slime gel — mandatory before Crimson Ruins.

Level 30–65: Craft Iron Novice pieces while farming Rima drops — don't enter Rima at 65 with uncrafted gear.

Level 160: Craft Copper Novice / Thorn supplements after Sinbad partial drops.

Level 255: Mass craft Steel Adventurer from Ogre Horn stockpile — primary economic loop.

Level 360+: Shadow Steel from Sigil Fragment hoards during Monarch farms.

Gold costs scale with tier — farm mobs between boss sessions for currency. Gold potions from expired DJINNDUNGEON tier codes replaced by checking active codes.

Blacksmith Tips

Interact with E key (PC) or interact button (mobile/console) — see controls. Craft during downtime between boss queues rather than mid-farm — inventory management matters.

Don't buy shop armor that Blacksmith can craft cheaper with farmed materials. Slime Sword (950 base damage post-Update 1.8) is shop transition piece until Slime Katana (1.77% Rima) drops.
