How to Beat King Sinbad
Strategy guide for King Sinbad: level 160, 15,000 HP, Thornblade drops, and Greatsword build tips at Sinbad's Keep.
Boss Overview
King Sinbad is the second major boss in The Dunes zone at Sinbad's Keep (Island 6). Recommended level 160 with 15,000 HP solo. Sinbad wields the Thornblade Greatsword during the fight and can drop it to players — the signature mid-game weapon chase alongside Copper Novice and Thorn armor sets.
Sinbad marks the Greatsword mastery power spike on mastery tier list. Build: Greatsword build. Prior boss: Rima at 65 — Rima guide.
Preparation
- Level 155+ (160 recommended)
- Greatsword mastery with charge attack investment
- Iron Novice minimum — Slime Katana or craftable Greatsword transition weapon
- SlimeSlayer Power potion (30 min) — active codes
- Health potions stocked
- Optional: trio partners from Guild HQ (level 125) for learning runs
Complete Desert Island (level 90) and Guild Headquarters unlock before Sinbad attempt. Thorn armor from partial Sinbad drops helps subsequent kills — first clear is hardest.
Fight Mechanics
Sinbad combines Thornblade slashes with sand-themed AoE pools and a charge attack that one-shots under-geared players. Core strategy: identify charge wind-up → dash perpendicular → punish with your own charge attack during recovery frame.
Stance break techniques from Greatsword tree interrupt Sinbad's extended combos — invest before attempting if struggling. Phase 2 enrage below 30% HP increases attack speed; save health potions for this segment.
Thornblade drop rate not fully published on Trello — expect longer farm than Rima's 1.77% Slime Katana. Community estimates dozens of kills for first drop.
Post-Sinbad Progression
With Thornblade and Thorn/Copper Novice sets, push Goblin Ruins (level 190+) toward Ogre Lord (255, 45,000/90,000 HP). Ogre Horns at 41.58% become primary craft material. Scythe mastery viable for Goblin mob density — Scythe build.
Boss routes: full routes. Weapons: Thornblade stats. Progression: island gates.
